I’d like to play a game. I want to list as many synonyms for a word as I can think of:
Stupid: brainless, moronic, dull, slow, dense, thick, senseless, dolt, feeble, idiot, vacuous, Kristin Wallace
Not great, but I feel that I wasn’t properly prepared for…
What? Oh, that last one? That one is pretty easy to explain. Meet Kristin Wallace, buyer of lakes and instigator of ridiculous lawsuits. Want to know why we have to deal with the frivolous lawsuits that choke our court systems? Well, look no further than Kristin.
Kristin started a property investment company. One of her first investments was the purchase of 8 acres of property that was under a lake.
Now, she is suing the county because she would like it to no longer be a lake. It’s not worth anything to her as a lake. She did however know it was a lake when she bought it.
Her attorney, H. Cliff Kirkhart offered to sell the property back to the county for an undisclosed amount. I would wager that it was for more than what she bought it for. The attorney also stated that the county is acting maliciously by keeping it underwater.
Now, we’re not going to give Mr. Kirkhart a hard time. He’s an attorney. We all know that “attorney” is greek for “unethical”. You know that whole medical Hippocratic oath? The attorneys have one too. If they don’t try to screw someone over with a lawsuit that defies commonsense and decency, they will lose their license.
Kristin however should know better(unless she is also an attorney). What she’s doing is so transparent that it would be embarrassing to be in any way part of this(again, unless you were an attorney). She bought a lake, knowing it was a lake with the understanding that it was never planned to make it something else than a lake. She then sued the county to make it not a lake, with the offer to sell them the same land they sold her because they didn’t want it.
If you think that Kristin is a grade A moron, then you pretty much fall in line with the majority of the free world.
If you don’t? Well then, Kristin has some water front property she would like to sell you.
