Matt Hartley feels that we as linux users are not pulling our weight.  Linux hasn’t crushed the OS opposition because we’ve not tried hard enough to persuade our friends, family and acquaintances that  Linux Is The Greatest Operating System Known To Man.

My question to Matt is this:

Why in the hell should I have to convince anyone to use it?

Seth Godin is receiving kudos for his post concerning the mistakes the music industry made and how any business can avoid the pitfalls.

You know what? His article is absolutely, without a doubt 100% correct. The problem isn’t that it’s incorrect. The issue at hand is that it’s common sense. I mean, it’s what we’ve all been saying for years.

Hell, even the RIAA has known it for years.

One man’s quest to save the movie industry

Britt Leach couldn’t take the stress of being the one responsible for the fleecing of the MPAA, so he looked at his options and took the most reasonable course of action available to him.

Having a little bit of fun with the issue at hand, Mr. Leach comes to the conclusion that anyone appreciative of their rights should; stop playing the MPAA’s and RIAA’s game. Why accept the stripping of your rights just so you can give them money? Why pay to be treated like a criminal?

The solution, as Mr. Leach explained, is very simple. Stop paying them.

There are plenty of organizations and private parties that will treat you like shit for free.
