I tremble for our species…

by schwim on Feb.22, 2008, under Spam

when I realize that we deserve all the junk mail we get.

I was doing a search online tonight looking for some nameserver references for keymachine.de, which has become the source for 90% of the bot registrations on one of my community sites, when I ran across this blog post, titled “simply-rx.com sucks!”.

If you’ve ever dealt with the scourge of the internet known as spammers and bots, you’ve seen references and links to this site and if you’ve not, I can promise you that you’ve seen “affiliates” that are nothing more than gateway sites to simply-rx. These guys have been taking people’s money in exchange for the promise of sending them medicine for years now.

Notice that I didn’t say that they sell you medicine. They’re scammers. They take your money. Rarely, if ever would you ever see anything in return. If you did, chances are great that it’s a bogus product.

Back to my point: The guy that started the blog post was only stating that simply-rx sent a lot of spam. What the thread became though, was a festival of comments from morons and dipshits that sent them money and were angry that they had been ripped off.

Before I share any of these comments with you, I want preface this with a few things:

1) These people sent hundreds of dollars to a company whose sole method of advertising is comment and email spam.
2) Some were completely flabbergasted to find that simply-rx was not a legitimate company.
3) They were angry.
4) Some were hopeful that it was just taking a very long time to receive their shipment.

Let’s see some examples:

Jack Reed is lashing out:

Ditto to the ripoff comment. I also placed a $300.00 plus order and have not received the med’s or a reply to my e-mails. Beware of Simply-rx, as they are theives as well as spammers. Simply-rx theives. Simply-rx ripoff. Simply-rx crooks. Simply-rx beware

Bob barely dodged the bullet. Having learned his lesson, he has decided to ask nameless strangers if they know of a better option:

Hey good thing i stumbled on your site.
I was about to buy form simply rx.
Thanks.
I need to buy meds, can you tell me of a good site to get my meds?
Any help would be appreciated,
Thanks.
Bob

Danno didn’t realize that it was spam and he is simply dumbfounded.. DUMBFOUNDED I SAY to find that they were not based in the good ol’ US of A:

I also too was ripped off, and I sent probably 12 emails to them. I told them, that my cc was looking for them, all of a sudden they were gone.
CC Bill stated White Feathers Intl, Punn INDIA!
My CC credited my account, and they are going after them. As I told my CC, I didn’t order from White Feathers Intl, and I sure as heck haven’t heard of Punn INDIA!!
I did some research, and couldn’t find a Company with the name.
Plus I actually had a RX, I just thought I could fax it to them, and get my medication cheaper, since I don’t have insurance. And I honestly didn’t know, it was spam or out of the USA! Or I wouldn’t have done it

Rob has come up with the perfect solution:

Simply-RX should be reported because they are commiting wire fraud.

Bob has had enough and is taking it even further!

I too was charged for meds — never got them and they erased the e-mail from my computer. I am taking legal action again them!!!!

Tim wants to know how stupid they think he is.

Well, I received several emails, stating they had some type of error, and that my shipment well shipped out Jan 22, and it would take 15-20 days for it would be delivered. They apologized, stating hereafter, that they would be prompt, in anwsering any emails. Yea, right. They sent me to the live support, if I had any questions. Also, they would be able to track the shipment. Well, as all of you know, their is NO one available to speak with, on live support. And of course, they haven’t reponded to ANY further inquiries. All I’m getting is emails, stating my confirmations on rx, that I haven’t even ordered. Boy, how stupid do they think I am? If I do receive my rx (and correct one at that) I think I’ll faint!

Baz sent them lots of money and received nothing in return. Twice.

I too ordered from simply-rx about a year ago. Same story, never received anything. About a week ago I signed onto online pharmacy, ordered meds only to discover that it was through simply-rx. If you feel stupid, I’ve now lost $600.00 to them.I too want to know if there is anything I can do to get my $$$$ back.
There are tons more in an identical vein. I won’t bore you any longer.I was simply trying to to help you understand when I say that these people are not victims. The server admins that spend hundreds of dollars and hours upon hours to combat the flood of spam as well as the end user that deletes this shit as it hits their inbox are the victims.

These morons are the reason for the problem.
