If they really wanted trusted computing,

they might have considered reversing the roles concerning which OS is not allowed to be installed on the drive.
Microsoft has announced that Vista’s SP1 will fail on install if you’re dual-booting, thanks to “Trusted Computing”’s chain of trust being broken.
If you scoff at TC, I can vouch that the system works well. For instance, Microsoft broke my “chain of trust” a few years ago causing me to not allow it to install on my computer. No problems since.

You can never be too careful.

I passed my first kidney stone about seven years ago. I did it at a hospital with the assistance of a lot of pain medications. Normally the hospitals provide these medicines to help alleviate some of the pain you’re going through. In my case, they prescribed them because my screaming was scaring the other patients… two floors up in the maternity ward. I didn’t care why they were giving them to me. The only important thing was that I was getting something to dull the pain.
One small problem. The medicine prescribed didn’t address the pain. To be frank, it didn’t even shake hands with it. It just walked on by the pain without even a sideways glance.
To make a long and painful story short, they finally gave me something that just completely obliterated my coherence and within four hours of the initial pain, I had passed the stone.
You may wonder why I’m bothering to write about this at five AM in the morning. On my blackberry. In my bathroom.
Leading the way to a greener tomorrow

Hewlett-Packard, in an effort to green up their business practices, have employed a new method of packaging. Their thought process is obviously that if they use up all of the paper products in the world, then we shall all be forced to use alternative materials that make less of an impact on mother earth. Genius, if you ask me.
Breaking from my modus operandi, I’d like to share a couple thoughts on the matter. Normally, I’d give it a miss, because half of you already know that what I’m saying is true and the other half is mistaken, but I’ve sat still for the fanatics on both sides long enough to deserve stating the completely obvious.
He truly works in mysterious ways

Matt Lincoln of Knoxville, TN asked asked God for a “real experience” while praying at his church. He then got so filled with the spirit of God that he promptly passed out.
This is a miracle. He asked for proof of God’s existence and he got it. Matt has singlehandedly nullified all arguments against the existence of a higher power. What’s he going to do now? Write a book? Begin a speaking circuit? Start his own church? A television show perhaps?
None of these things, actually. Matt is suing the Lakewind church for $2.5 million, citing lost work, medical bills and pain & suffering. He states that someone should have caught him, since during previous possessions by the Holy Spirit, the congregation had always been there for him.
If God made man in his own image, we had all better get good attorneys in preparation of the second coming.

As if we don’t have enough topics for the political blow-hards to tarnish, I found this. While I can appreciate the fact that it’s these guys’ job to simply talk about things, I sometimes wonder if they ran out of real content a few years ago. When fully grown and productive adults begin arguing over the innuendos of a childrens’ cartoon, they need to reevaluate their life.

Who here can picture the type of person it would take to be a hitman? I think we all can, thanks to many movies and news segments concerning the topic.
Now, with that image in mind, who can picture said hitman busily texting away on his iPhone, offering you a chance to live for a few thousand dollars?
