Happy vet’s day

What’s the difference between Veteran’s day and Memorial day? One person gets thanked posthumously.
Thanks to everyone that gave the gov’t a blank check that didn’t get cashed. And to the jarheads out there, yesterday was the 233rd birthday of our Beloved Corps. Semper Gumby, ooh-rah and a hearty yut to you all.

G’day Schwimm.
Semper Fi indeed. I once attended a Marine Corps birthday bash in Canberra – the 222nd in ’97 – the Embassy’s Marine detatchment liked to throw parties for several hundred guests at a time …it was a great party. They even showed the address by the Chief Marine. I also used to see them around occassionally at the local pub on a Friday night – military folk used to gravitate to the same locations it seems.
Having worn a uniform myself for a few years, I think I grasp the sentiments.
Cute photo, too. Cheers.
