E-Dribble

You can even cut a tin can with it…

Kevin Turner, the COO of Microsoft stated in a address at the MidMarket CIO Summit:

Vista today, post-Service Pack 2, which is now in the marketplace, is the safest, most reliable OS we’ve ever built. It’s also the most secure OS on the planet, including Linux and open source and Apple Leopard. It’s the safest and most secure OS on the planet today. Everything that we’ve learned in Vista will be leveraged in Windows 7, but certainly when we broke a lot of the compatibility issues to lock down user account controls, to lock down the ability to manipulate states and all the things, that was a very painful process for us to grow through, but we had to do it. And the reason that Windows 7 will be successful is because of the pain we took on Vista. Because from a compatibility standpoint, if it works on Vista, it will work on Windows 7. If it doesn’t work on Vista, it won’t work on Windows 7.

    One word … Conficker.

I’m wandering how big his nose grew during the speech. Heck, aren’t there laws against telling lies in public like that? You gotta appreciate the balls of the MS marketroids trying to get some small benefit from an otherwise unmitigated disaster: ‘The pain inflicted by Vista was a calculated decision that we took with the user’s best interests at heart’. Reminds me of a few others: ‘Read my lips, no new taxes’ …. ‘I did not have sexual relations with that woman’ …. ‘I believe that nicotine is not addictive’ …. and my personal favourite, ‘By 1990, no child will live in poverty’.

You know, while they’re at it, Microsoft ought to try this porkie, too: ‘Windows Genuine Advantage is designed purely to ensure the best user experience possible’. Oh wait, they already do.

On the bright side, an Australian inventor won a US$388 million patent lawsuit against Microsoft today. That’s only 8 days’ worth of MS profit, though. :(

Between the inventor and The European price fixing lawsuit, it might explain why MS decided to completely fuck this guy.

Hehe, I insinuated that they might need a reason.

Well hey there schwim. This is “rerushg” from the 2007 FF days before they went fascist. Good to see you’re still out here in the ether. Nice little site you’ve got here.
As to the subject at hand: yup, more MS BS. I’m not even sure they’ even want to be in the software business anymore. But they’re in the enviable position where people will mindlessly clothespin their noses and shovel MS sh1t into their box. Ain’t it funny how we Americans are so easily led, despite our pseudo-frontier mentality of freedom and independence?

On a slightly different bent, here’s a link that you might enjoy. I ran across it the other day when I was looking into “machinima”:

Hey there Rick :) It seems I win the “Harbor the most FF.org ship-jumpers” contest :D

Very much enjoying the link, thanks very much for that. And as for “pioneer Americans”, that went out the window with the introduction of the tv :)
