Nothing to see here. Keep it moving.

Tanya Andersen was one of those people you heard about in recent years… she was a disabled single mom being sued by the RIAA. The RIAA did everything they could to destroy her but it didn’t work out the way they had hoped. She was a likable person, the judge didn’t happen to be on their payroll and they had no evidence. So, after a couple of years of trying to put her in the pokey, they dropped the case.
Tanya decided to countersue them for the attorney’s fees. She won.
All’s good, right? Well actually, Tanya’s just getting started. She then filed a suit of her own, rehashing some already mentioned misdeeds by the RIAA, and piling on some more.
Before everyone begins downloading Kazaa, they may want to check whether this judge is on their payroll.
The class action notification has been sealed by the court at the RIAA’s request. You could read the notes from the discovery motion, except the only people privy to those were the RIAA and the judge. The plaintiff wasn’t invited. Oh, and those records are sealed too.
See, when you’re the one being sued by the RIAA, you’d better hold on to your ass as it’s very big news indeed. The purpose of the lawsuits are to generate fear and that can only happen if everyone on the face of the earth knows who you are.
If however, the RIAA is on the receiving end of the fucking… well, then we simply seal the discoveries and findings.
After all, they have an image to protect.
