I thought they were going to try something “new”.

In an effort to win back some of the readers that are ditching formal news sites, The New York Times is going to implement Addictionary, a system that creates fake words and creates definitions for them, through user input.
While others view it as something new for the news sites, I see it as just an extension. They’ve been printing fake news for ages. Why not throw a couple made up words in there as well?
This is a whole new ballgame, folks!

Ashton Kutcher says Twitter is going to change the face of media. At the same time, we have Trent Reznor stating that he’s done with Twitter because it’s being overrun by fat, ugly women that want to have sex with stars.
At least, now we know why Ashton is so fond of it.
I have either found a time traveller from the past,

or he has simply just awoken from a coma.
Marc Deslauriers is mad. Steaming mad. Many of you probably aren’t aware, but it seems that Apple has recently begun going to great lengths to thwart interoperability.

Who knew that a company that made it’s mark on the world by dictating which computers you could run their software on would do something like … oh, I don’t know….. Telling you what software you can connect to their devices on and vice versa.
I’m with Marc. I totally didn’t see this one coming.
Like proving you’re not flammable by lighting yourself on fire.

To prove that they’re not as dogmatic and closed minded as the religious groups that their mom made them hang out with as kids, some people have begun organizing debaptism events.
Just so we’re clear, I don’t think they’re idiots for renouncing a tenet they never believed in. I think they’re idiots for needing an organized activity to do so, regardless of whether it’s to ridicule their parents’ beliefs or because they need someone to tell them it’s ok to do it.
Jennifer Gray stated “It was a chance to laugh at the silly things I used to believe as a child. It helped me admit that it was OK to think the way I think and to not have any religious beliefs.”
If you need a guy with a blow dryer and a cracker with peanut butter to make it ok for you to not believe in God, then maybe you have larger issues than a baptism hanging over your head.
They may even have a position open for someone like him.

From ComputerworldUK: Linux will trounce Windows 7
From Datamation: Google Chrome OS: Desktop linux’ last chance
A dichotomy, you presume? Well, not really. What can be gained by combining the two posts is very simple: Before linux becomes extinct, it will trounce Windows 7.
I guess there’s some comfort to be had in that.
Almost, but not quite

If they had reversed the ratio of delicious goodness that is crust to the superfluous crap that they fill it with, the chicken pot pie would be the greatest thing on earth.
As it stands, this is still the greatest thing on earth.
It’s as handy as getting punched in the face. Twice.

I love computer games. Some games, I love more than I should(My productivity dropped alarmingly during my WoW period). Since I love games so much, I have a very zoomy computer off to my left with smile inducing specs. Nothing but games gets installed on it.
I wouldn’t contemplate running anything but Windows on it. Although I sometimes find games that I want to play that will run on linux, I have never found a game that I wanted to play that wouldn’t run on Windows. Windows does gaming better.
There but for the grace of Jim Beam, go I.

All of the guys reading this that frequent(or used to frequent) the FedoraForum idle forum probably got to witness or be a part of this thread up until the premature end. In it, those members with too much time on their hands discussed Richard Stallman and his influence on the linux community, or more specifically how it is viewed by the rest of the world. It seems that I viewed his place in the world of free software as less of a benefit than others.
In my incredibly humble opinion, Richard Stallman is a very large part of why linux has such a negative stigma attached to it. He’s one of the most vocal proponents for free software. In my opinion, he’s one of the worst.
