To prove that they’re not as dogmatic and closed minded as the religious groups that their mom made them hang out with as kids, some people have begun organizing debaptism events.
Just so we’re clear, I don’t think they’re idiots for renouncing a tenet they never believed in. I think they’re idiots for needing an organized activity to do so, regardless of whether it’s to ridicule their parents’ beliefs or because they need someone to tell them it’s ok to do it.

If you need a guy with a blow dryer and a cracker with peanut butter to make it ok for you to not believe in God, then maybe you have larger issues than a baptism hanging over your head.
