My ribbing is all in good fun as well. I was serious of course about being a pillar of the community, though. Again, I’m not making the statement, I’m just passing on what I heard from many others.

Bob was always very nice and almost apologetic when notifying me of a mandatory vacation in the form of a ban at the site. He’s been doing it long enough not to take it personally, unlike most of the intardnet’s moderators. Rarely did you want to invite the guy banning you out for a glass of cream soda, but I would have bought Bob one.

He would have had to buy his own pastry though.

Well I hope that Leigh remains. He’s one of the good guys. If he’s moving that would make sense; he’s probably got Faraday cages nested 3-deep to disassemble and move.
As for Bob, Dan, and the others, I’m just kidding, of course. They’re doing what they gotta do and I respect that. I’m just harkening back to the time before (roughly mid-2007) when FF was pretty wide open and Schwim took great delight in harassing the management — always in a respectful way.
As for Sean: always a bit intense. I think he was hoping to become a mod in the 2007 transition but it didn’t happen. The Vista think he’s been into seems to be a kind of “sour grapes” attitude.
It’s all good – just another day on the WWW.

Leigh moved house recently – I believe he’s still sorting out related issues.

Actually, I don’t mind Bob or Dan (just as long as they keep paying me to say that). It’s that Sean fellow you really have to look out for – he’s a Windows user now (and he doesn’t pay me a damn cent).

Oh my god, don’t get me started about Bob. The combination of a lack of tolerance and his heavy-handed moderating made it impossible to remain the devoted, law abiding and helpful poster that I pride myself on being.

I don’t like to toot my own horn, but I heard whispers of “pillar of the community” and “stellar example of a forum netizen” when people mentioned my name.

Same here, Dan. Just turned 60. CANNOT relate to that number. Let’s try this: sixty. Nope; can’t relate to that either. Maybe I’ll make it to 64 so I can say I’m “eight squared.” That would be cool.
Sure hope Congress passes Health Care Reform. I’m gonna sign up for the euthanasia program. Sounds like fun! I’m so glad they’re making a special effort to accommodate us baby boomers!
I’m gonna get me a nice green bumper sticker that says “Eat Me!!”
