I think anyone willing to pay upwards of $700 for an iPhone with a weight problem will very likely pay $30 a month to read what the NY Times considers news-worthy.

Which leads me to this hard-hitting comparison:

This is the kind of fair and balanced journalism that I can get behind.

but they know useless when they see it. To add to this, they don’t mind calling a useless piece of shit… well, a useless piece of shit.

Japan never adopted the iPhone. In spite of giving them away, they’re still the odd man out. Why? Because it’s half the phone at twice the price in comparison to what they’re used to.

Why is Japan’s market such a dipole to ours? Well, Steve’s pearly whites, domineering persona and witty monologues during press releases just don’t have the same effect on the Japanese as they do here. iSheep are a minority there and owning one so you can tell people you own one seems a bit silly to them. We however, think that’s an incredibly dandy reason to own one. Think I’m kidding? I don’t have to go any further than this blog to make my point:

A while ago, I told you all what a steaming pile a certain app geared for lil’uns was. One of the app’s developers came to the rescue of his application and told me that I was mistaken, it wasn’t a smouldering pile of poo in a brown paper bag. In closing his missive, he wrote:

(blogged from iphone apologies in advance for any typos)

Not “texting while riding with smelly people on a bus” or “writing this from my phone during a meet & greet with the president”. No sir, we were to be made aware that he wrote it on his iPhone.

Who on earth would think to form that sentence? My thoughts are someone that would like us to know that he owns an iPhone. He’s not alone. Millions of Mac, iTunes and iPhone iSheep go so far as to buy the t-shirt. Why? Because it’s not enough to own something they feel is superior. They need you to know that they own something that they feel is superior.

Apple has made millions of dollars on this need. When you have devices that get sold simply because it’s cool to own one, you can almost rest assured that there are people around the world thinking you are an idiot.

In this case, they are right.
