I’ve had a bit of fun reading about Facebook’s recent attempt to overthrow Google as the go-to place for useless shit.  You see, Facebook’s visits translate into advertising dollars. One fantastic way of increasing the number of visits is by making it practically impossible for you to secure your data, thereby making more content available for all the people that have absolutely nothing better to do than spend hours a day browsing flotsam and jetsam posted by other people with nothing better to do than to post it.

Lucky for them, Apple doesn’t offer pizza.

There’s a lot of technological advancements that fall short of their potential, not because of any shortsightedness during development, but because idiots and lemmings are the first to embrace said technology, causing all future effort to be spent on developing for asshats.

Twitter.  This is definitely one of those technologies.  Let’s not talk about a company that can’t even manage to turn a buck off of the most malleable and gullible of society.  No, let’s talk talk about a company that can successfully exploit those people.  Let’s talk about the iPhone.

I tremble for our species

… when I realize that the people tasked with keeping this country running are even more of a bunch of mindless followers than the unwashed masses are.

Seriously, the sheep are supposed to emulate the top of the totem pole.  What in the hell are we supposed to do when the top of the totem pole is busy emulating us?

The Whitehouse blog recently posted an article letting you know how “connected” they have become.  In it, they give you the links to their Facebook, Myspace, Twitter, Flickr, Vimeo, Youtube and iTunes channels. You can now get the most critical information concerning our national welfare and security right alongside these guys.
