Are you dead yet? How about now? Now?

Well, it seems that in spite of news channels and educated tweets predicting the opposite, The swine flu was kind of a bust :(

Psych! It seems that a single person in Denmark has a case of the virus that is resistant to medication. Imagine that. A virus that resists treatment. Doctors stated that this man seems to be the only human being alive with the more resistant strain of the virus. Of course, they’re not contemplating about whether the anomaly lies with the patient, they’re assuming that a super-virus has developed.

Currently, Fox News is working on what to call a one-man virus outbreak that will still grab headlines.

I voted for “mandemic”.

It’s your own damned fault for listening to us.

What do you do when you create a national scare for ratings and it becomes incresingly obviious that you pulled everything out of your ass?

Well, first you ease into the letdown, making sure that you phrase it in such a way that it’s ambiguously insinuated that the risk is still lurking around the corner.  Then you begin ridiculing the hordes of people that fell for your bullshit.

You see, the death toll for the swine flu currently stands at 19. The average number of deaths annually from standard influenza?  36, o00.  While you can creatively adjust numbers to make the word “epidemic” fit, it seems that the disparity between these two figures are too great for even the US media to stretch.

Now, I’m not blaming the news agencies.  They’re no better than spammers.  They’re in it to make money and everyone knows that fear sells.  The mental defects that watched the news and immediately donned paper masks while wrapping themselves in cheesecloth deserved every minute of anguish that they endured.

I’m just sorry that I didn’t have the forsight to buy stock in dust masks.

Let’s be honest. What exactly were you expecting?

This just in: Twitter facilitates the spread of misinformation and lacks the ability to place comments into context.

And just after the break: Water is wet and fire is hot.

It seems the tech internet news sites are just getting around to discussing the fact that Twitter is useless as a source for receiving legitimate information.  In this instance, they’ve used the swine flu scare(I refuse to use the word outbreak in conjunction with swine flu, since there is no outbreak. Also, please take note that I won’t be attributing Proper Name status to the term swine flu.  You’re a fucking mental hemorrhoid if you don’t see the pathetic attempts of the news agencies for what they are.)
