Everyone has needs in their life that rank higher than others. We do things in life to meet those needs since they’re so important to us. Other needs often go unmet because of them, in fact.
If I had to rate my two most important personal needs, I would choose the following:
1) Broadband internet: This is both for my work and play. My job requires constant data transfer(hosting & design). My play centers around it as well(Q3 servers, etc).
2) A garage: If I’m at home and I’m not playing, then I’m either working on the house or I’m working on a car. It’s the other two things I do when I’m at home, excluding sleep and bathroom breaks. If you’ve looked in my gallery, then you have an idea of the type of work I’m talking about.
So there you go. Broadband internet and a workspace.
Five years ago, I chose to buy a house in the woods that had no garage or broadband internet access.
